Chandler is committed to ensuring after school enrichment opportunities

for students in 2018-2019, provided in four sessions, as follows:

Session 1: September 4 - October 12  (6 weeks)
Session 2: October 15 - December 14 (8 weeks)
 [NOTE: Some providers combine sessions 1 & 2 into a longer session]  
Session 3: January 7 - March 15 (10 weeks)
Session 4: March 18 - May 31 (10 weeks)

**Please note the number of lessons offered during each session will depend on the class, and classes may vary during each session based on enrollment and interest from families. Some classes may not be offered for all grade levels. Please be sure to check the details below.

Spanish Enrichment:  by Kallpachay  (Spanish Immersion enrichment class)

Engineering with Lego by Paywell

Power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO parts! Dance with SkyHigh

Dance teaches children to improve strength and flexibility, recognize movement progressions, learn stage direction, improve memorization skills, develop choreograpy patterns, enhance confidence & self-image.  Class includes dance movement & hip hop by a dynamic certified dance instructor with a showcase on the last day.  Prizes are awarded to all students.  Exclusive Sky High Dance Shirt. Music Class: Guitar or Piano by Gift of Music Foundation

Private/Semi-Private music lessons from professional musicians at an amazing value! Students will receive 20-30 minute lessons, plus a recital. Lesson time slots are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis between 2:30 and 5:30 pm. Earlier slots may be reserved for younger students. Students in the same grade and ability level may be placed in a group of 2 or 3 depending on enrollment. Parents are responsible for making sure their child arrives on time unless other arrangements are made with an after-school program to escort them. The program will provide a keyboard or guitar for use during lessons, although Guitar students are encouraged to bring their own instrument if they have one. Tennis by TGA

Come serve it up with TGA Premier Youth Tennis at Chandler Learning Academy! TGA has partnered with the United States Tennis Association to create a fun and innovative tennis program for your child that takes place after school on the playground. TGA’s 5 level elementary school curriculum includes games, drills and physical fitness activities that improve motor skills, agility and hand-eye coordination. Every TGA class also focuses on academic concepts developed by educational experts, including STEM experiments, and the rules and etiquette of the game. The highly skilled TGA instructors provide all of the equipment and training materials. Our goal is to not only develop our student’s tennis skills, but to give children the building blocks for future achievement on the tennis court and in life. Chandler Learning Academy students that participated in a previous TGA Tennis class and received a yellow or orange level wrist band will move on to the next skill level throughout the session.  Includes hat and handbook for new students.  Chess with SkyHigh

ART Class -  Fine Arts by Amy Balikyan

Students will explore and develop their artistic skills and will be introduced to the basic elements of art: line, shape, texture, color, and perspective.  Materials used will include: paints, brushes, oil pastels, and markers.  Exciting and different projects each week will help students enhance their creativity and artistic techniques.  Enrollment is limited so return your application early. Contact teacher Amy Balikyan for more information.


E3 After-School Care & Enrichment

 E3 Enrichment Operates 5 days a week throughout the school year providing after-care from dismissal until 6 pm.  
Grades 1-5:
E3 Enrichment provides a fee-based after school program that inspires students to discover their highest potential. E3's purpose is is to create an atmosphere where children can explore in a safe and nurturing environment while offering creative, meaningful and exciting experiences in the areas of fine art, music, drama, science and physical education.

E3's After School Program is comprised of 3 components designed to provide students the opportunity to participate in:

            - “Signature 1-hour classes” 

            - “Think Tank” (A study / homework hour)

            - “It’s a Wrap!” (Finish homework, enrichment projects and/or participate in supervised indoor/outdoor activities).

Parents can choose how many days a week they wish to participate and can select specific Signature Classes or full care. 
Kindergarten Enrichment (KE) for TK & Kinder:

Our Program is comprised of signature monthly themes and activities resulting in creative investigation and discovery. Kindergartners explore the worlds of science, history, art, and music by becoming scientists, geographers, artists and musicians. Children will perform experiments, paint like the masters, and are introduced to a variety of musical instruments. Click here to view monthly themes and events throughout the school year.

Mid-Valley Y.M.C.A. After-School Program at Chandler

The YMCA provides a fee based after-school programs for working parents and a safe haven for their children outside regular school hours. YMCA provides a staff-to-child ratio of 1:14 and year-round care by instructors who specialize in education and child development.

The YMCA's curriculum includes homework time and play time. YMCA's thoughtful curriculum includes homework time, fun enrichment classes and the chance to work with community organizations. Your child’s safety is the YMCA's priority, so they also require a majority of their childcare staff to be certified in CPR, first aid and water safety. Every member of their team undergoes a thorough background check prior to employment. As YMCA recognizes the importance of quality care for kids, financial assistance is available to qualifying families.

YMCA Enrollment Forms 

 L.A.U.S.D. Beyond the Bell Youth Development Program (YDP) and Youth Services Program (YS)

The Beyond the Bell (BTB) program provides two after school options at Chandler.  The Youth Development Program for students grades 1-5 and Youth Services Program for student (2-5).  Both programs are provided free-of-charge to participants.   


Youth Services is a permissive program where participants arrive and leave at their own discretion.  The program operates from the time of school dismissal until the posted closing time to better meet the recreational and supervision needs of children, as well as those of working parents. Additionally, expanded program hours may be provided on minimum and shortened days to provide safe and supervised activities. Parents must sign an agreement with the Youth Services Program prior to their child being eligible to participate. 

The Youth Development Program requires that students be signed in and out.  Each rotation is led by a District trained staff member who is known as coach. Rotations operate on a ratio of 20:1. The Site Coordinator at every school interacts with parents on a daily basis and often times serves as that personal bridge from the school day to the parent. YDP operates from school dismissal until six Monday through Friday. YDP features the following three major components on a daily basis: Academic Enrichment, Homework Support, Recreation, and Read-A-Loud.  Snack is provided.
