Week of October 29 - Valet Duty for Rm 9

Week of October 29 -"FUN FRIDAY" Style Recess ALL WEEK!!

October 31 - Halloween Parade - Chandler's Annual Halloween Parade will take place on October 31st at 8:45 a.m. Students should arrive at school dressed in costumes with regular clothes underneath. Students should bring a bag with their now on it to put the costume in after the parade. NO face makeup or face paint. Students may wear a mask as long as it does not impair their vision. Weapons of any kind are not permitted on campus. Even fake ones. Costumes should be respectful to all groups. NO parent costumes please. We're looking forward to your being in the audience, in the grassy area at the center of the track, ready to cheer on our students as they parade around. The gates will be locked at 8 am so students can take attendance and enjoy breakfast. The Weddington gate will be open at 8:30 for parents to re-enter. After the parade, the gates will be locked again and the remainder of the day will be spent on regular instruction. We hope to see you all there!

Week of November 26 - Valet Duty for Rm 7

November 30 - Movie Night- Come and join all your school friends and community to watch the movie. Bring your own picnic dinner! Followed by a FREE showing of movie TBA at 5:00 PM. Movie is shown in the field, so bring chair and blankets, dress warmly, and enjoy the show! We hope to see you at THE MOVIE!


Fun Walk FINAL UPDATE

 WAY TO GO CHEETAHS!
READY - We reached our initial goal of $30,000 which means:
We turned Mrs. McIntire into an ice cream sundae! (Check out the Chandler PTA Facebook for a video!)

SET - We went the extra mile and raised $35,000, which means:
The whole school earned 1 entire week of "Fun Friday" style recess. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday AND  Friday for the whole week of October 29th - November 2nd!

GO - We shot for the stars and together we raised a grand total of:

$45,805!

Cheetahs, you are ALL SUPERSTARS!

And because you all did SO AMAZING, for the 1st time EVER we've decided that

EVERY CLASS will get Rockin' Bubble Parties (see the calendar for your class' date)!
 

Here are our SUPERSTAR CLASSES that reached 100% or MORE:

ROOM 4 was the TOP CLASS raising $4,418!

Rooms 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 19, and 33 ALSO reached 100% or more!

Today, Monday 10/22, Charlie Cheetah will pay a special visit to ALL of the classrooms that met 100% of their goal, but he'll have special ADDITIONAL PRIZES for the rockstars in Room 4, our top fundraisers!

MEAL APPLICATIONS EFFECT OUR FUNDING. PLEASE APPLY! Meal applications need to be completed if you want your child to get a free or reduced price lunch. It is VERY IMPORTANT that ALL families complete meal applications (even if you do not intend or want to get school lunch). We ask that everyone apply whether or not you think you may qualify as completion of these forms affects our eligibility for funding. In these economic times, more families are qualifying for the program. Your child and Chandler benefit! If you complete the online application, you do not need to complete a paper application.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that ALL families complete meal applications,even if you do not want school lunch or think you may not qualify.
Completing yours today may mean…
• Eligibility for free or reduced-priced healthy lunches.
More funding for schools to serve their highest-needs students.
• Funding for after school academic and enrichment programs and classroom
instruction.


LAUSD VOLUNTEER & SCHOOL VISIT POLICY: To volunteer (or visit) on the school campus or in the classroom more than 1 time during the school year, you will be required to complete an LAUSD volunteer application process. This is to ensure the safety of all students on campus and is a LAUSD district-wide policy! For directions, visit here. To complete the online application, visit here. You will need your student's ID, which can be obtained from the main office. Also be sure to print and return to the office when complete. Please don't wait, as it can take several weeks for your application to be processed. Please visit our Volunteer Orientation this Friday at either 8 am or 2:30 p.m. if you are interested.
